About us
Open University has been running the Electron Microscopy suite on its Milton Keynes campus as a separate interfaculty unit with a devoted staff, a team of 4. Along with supporting the STEM faculty, the Electron Microscopy suite is collaborating with other UK research institutions as well as supporting industrial customers in their needs.
What we do
- Provide knowledgeable advice to researchers on applying electron microscopy in their field of work.
- Run the preparation laboratory, preparing and supplying necessary equipment and reagents.
- Train students and researchers in techniques of electron microscopy and operation of electron microscopes.
- Perform some or all stages of preparation and analysis of samples by electron microscopy.

The Electron Microscope Suite is based on the Open University campus at Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA.

We are located in Venables Building ground floor, D wing, door number N0062.
The nearest building entrance from outside is Door E adjacent to the bicycle shed opposite the Sports Pavilion.
